MembershipManhattan Kansas Kennel Club offers two different types of club memberships: individual and family. Membership to MKKC includes participation in club events, such as training classes, the annual dog show and club parties, as well as access to the indoor training space for member use. Membership also provides a close network of people who share a passion for dog shows, breeds, and training. Anyone interested in joining the Manhattan Kansas Kennel Club is encouraged to read the club policies and apply for membership. All membership applicants must fill out the membership application (see below) and submit it to the club secretary either before or at the applicant's first meeting. Each application will be evaluated by the club board after the applicant attends a minimum of four club meetings in a six-month period. Below is a link to the application for membership. This document is a .pdf file and will require Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free software available for download at www.adobe.com. Club PoliciesPOLICY, concerning requirements for active membership: Members must participate in at least two of any combination of the following activities in the course of the club year (January-December) in order for their membership to remain in active status and to receive club benefits.* These activities include, but are not limited to: assisting with or teaching training classes; assisting with the CGC or TDI tests; serving on a committee; participate in a building "clean-up day"; and serving as a ring steward at our annual AKC dog show. In addition, members who choose to exhibit their dog(s) at our annual AKC dog show are expected to ring steward. *Club benefits are defined as training classes at a reduced fee or at no charge; a key to the building and use of the building at no charge; and an annual award plaque.
