About MKKC

The members of the Manhattan Kansas Kennel Club do not only own purebred dogs, nor do they advocate that only purebred dogs should be owned. Therefore, we welcome those with pure as well as mixed breeds.

As mentors to the community, MKKC promotes AKC's "Responsible Dog Ownership Day." It is observed on September 17 of each year, the day that AKC was founded in 1884. By promoting responsible dog ownership and training, we offer a variety of training classes. Puppy classes focus on socialization, training, and care. Obedience, rally, conformation, and agility classes are available and open to non-aggressive dogs, purebred or mixed.

MKKC cosponsors an AKC licensed dog show yearly at the Stormont Vail Event Center in Topeka in August.

In addition, we provide workshops and seminars for the community on a variety of dog training topics as well as participating in a variety of other community activities.
